Something Better with Beth

In January 2021, Beth began delivering microgreens to a few friends and neighbors on a weekly subscription basis. There are now more than 50 households, two stores and four restaurants across Fort Wayne ordering fresh microgreens from Beth.

What are Microgreens?

Microgreens are seedlings of vegetables and herbs that are often added to meals for extra nutrients and flavor. Beth’s microgreens are grown using organic seeds and practices.

Some examples of microgreens:

  • Broccoli
  • Radish
  • Sunflower Shoots
  • Pea Shoots
  • Arugula
  • Red Cabbage

Find Microgreens in the Fort Wayne Area

You can find Beth’s microgreens at the Three Rivers Natural Food Co-op, Juice Jar and at the YLNI Farmers Market this winter/spring on Saturdays in the old bread factory downtown. She also partners with a chicken farmer in Huntertown to raise non-GMO, soy-free eggs. Beth provides spent seed mats to supplement the chickens’ feed as well as compost.

Looking for Something Better and Local?

Something Better with Beth is actively seeking executive chefs and local restaurant managers to partner with to bring fresh, reliable microgreens to plate.

About Indiana Grown
The Indiana Grown initiative aims to not only form a clearer designation of which products truly come from Indiana, but to also help Hoosier consumers easily identify and buy these products. We truly believe everyone has a chance to share in the success of the initiative; whether it’s a large or small operation, high-tech or low-tech, traditional or non-traditional.
