Elissa and Thomas moved back home to be close to family. Opening 1823 Bakehouse in 2018, offering a wide range of menu options which all happen to be 100% gluten-free, ensuring customers have a safe, comfortable, and tasty dining experience catering to food sensitivities & allergies is incredibly important to Elissa and Thomas. Each staff member is specifically trained and aware of ingredients in all their made from scratch pastries, breads, breakfast, and lunch menu items. 1823 Bakehouse also offers locally roasted coffee, espresso-based drinks as well as over 80 loose leaf variety of teas to choose from. 1823 Bakehouse is deeply rooted in the history of Franklin, IN being named after the year Franklin became a city in 1823.

About Indiana Grown
The Indiana Grown initiative aims to not only form a clearer designation of which products truly come from Indiana, but to also help Hoosier consumers easily identify and buy these products. We truly believe everyone has a chance to share in the success of the initiative; whether it’s a large or small operation, high-tech or low-tech, traditional or non-traditional.
