Coming from the Heartland of America, Indiana has some of the best wineries and producers around! From traminette to concord to chardonel, our grape varieties are sure to satisfy any wine connoisseur, and Indiana’s wineries continue to win awards and attract attention on a national scale.

But, just how big is Indiana’s wine industry?

According to the Indiana Wine Grape Council, our wine industry contributes more than $72 million to Indiana’s economy, and each year, wine sales grow by more than 15 percent. Today, wine production in Indiana exceeds 1 million gallons per year, which is the equivalent of 5 million bottles — up from 40,000 gallons in 1991.

Indiana has just under 100 wineries that are spread all across the state and almost 30 percent of those are Indiana Grown members! So, to celebrate National Wine Day the Indiana way this year, try some wine from one of our many Indiana Grown wineries:
