Society of St Andrew gleaners

Society of St. Andrew – Indiana

The Society of St. Andrew is a gleaning organization located in Indianapolis but works with volunteers throughout the state to glean farmers’ excess produce and donate directly to local hunger relief organizations.

Working to #Endhunger

Around 40 of Indiana’s farmers partner with the Society of St. Andrew to reduce food waste and help feed food-insecure Hoosiers. The organization is always looking for more farmers, gardens and farmers markets who are interested in donating.

While the gleaning season has wound down for the winter, farmers markets remaining open through the season are able to continue giving what they can. If you’re looking for ways to help address hunger locally, prospective volunteers can learn more on the national website.

About Indiana Grown
The Indiana Grown initiative aims to not only form a clearer designation of which products truly come from Indiana, but to also help Hoosier consumers easily identify and buy these products. We truly believe everyone has a chance to share in the success of the initiative; whether it’s a large or small operation, high-tech or low-tech, traditional or non-traditional.
