Ambrosia Orchard, Cidery and Meadery – Hoagland, IN
Ambrosia Orchard is a 12 acre orchard founded in 2018 by owners Blanca and Edison Bender. The Bender family planted 500 trees of 25 different varieties including heritage and unique cider apple trees, modern eating apple trees, and Asian pears. While waiting for the trees to mature, Edison began making cider & meads to sustain the farm. Mead is also known as “honey wine” and thought to be the first alcohol beverage produced.
The Bender family supports local farms as often as possible. For their meads, they source 100% of the honey from Sweet Life Honey farm in Huntington, Indiana. The apples are also 100% sourced locally from Bender’s Orchard (Wolf Lake), McClure’s Orchard (Peru), and Orchard Hill Farms (Kendallville).
Ambrosia Orchard, Cidery and Meadery is family friendly and hosts many fun unique events throughout the year.
